Compactor Repair Specialist

The Opportunity

This field service position offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled technician to work from home and be dispatched to service calls. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing essential waste management equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair industrial compactors and balers, including electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting and PLC programming
  • Handle installation and maintenance of limit switches, photo-eye sensors, and solenoids
  • Conduct welding repairs and modifications
  • Assemble power units in shop during non-field work periods
  • Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with customers
  • Train and mentor junior technicians
  • Provide exceptional customer service while explaining technical details to clients

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial equipment repair, specifically with compactors or similar machinery
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities
  • Welding experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Flexibility for overtime and on-call rotation
  • Must be 18+ years of age

Compensation & Schedule

  • Competitive pay range: $24-34 per hour, based on experience
  • Standard hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Overtime opportunities available
  • Remote work arrangement (home-based with field service)
