Accounting Support Role at LKQ

We are seeking a skilled Accounting Professional to join our team at LKQ. As an Accounting Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting with accounting support of the monthly close process, managing journal entries, and other source documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Accounting Activities: Perform accounting tasks, including preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements.
  • Accounting Transactions: Prepare, record, analyze, and report accounting transactions, ensuring the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
  • Account Control and Reconciliation: Control and reconcile accounts and records, including balance sheet, P&L, bank accounts, etc.
  • Recurring and Month-End Accounting Functions: Assist with recurring and month-end accounting functions directed toward processing of transactions.
  • Accounting Procedures: Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
  • Process Improvements: Initiate and support continual process improvements.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Not responsible for supervising employees.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • 1+ years direct related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a corporate accounting environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to seek out relevant information.
  • Ability to apply math computation skills, including basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Maintain strong focus on details.
  • Ability to stay well organized.

Work Environment:

  • Office environment, requires walking, standing, or sitting for several hours at a time.
  • Perform repetitive motion tasks on a computer.
  • May require occasional travel.
