By staying abreast of housing resources and providing short-term crisis intervention services, you will be instrumental in supporting our program population. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A HOUSING NAVIGATOR To excel as a Housing Navigator, candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working with the client population, coupled with the ability to offer group facilitation and educational sessions.

Essential skills include a deep understanding of human development within the program context, encompassing areas such as child abuse, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health diagnosis, and suicide risk assessment.

A valid Ohio driver's license, auto insurance, and dependable vehicle are vital for transportation needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial, along with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Flexibility in working Saturdays and evenings, as well as a collaborative spirit to support other areas of the organization as required, are key attributes for success in this role.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • At least 2 years' working experience and knowledge relevant to client population specific to program including ability to teach and/or group facilitation.
  • Knowledge of human development specific to program such as indicators of child abuse, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health diagnosis, and ability to assess suicide risk and complete a lethality assessment.
  • A valid Ohio driver's license, auto insurance and a reliable vehicle.
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willing to remain current and increase knowledge relevant to client population specific to program.
  • Ability to work Saturdays and evenings when needed.
  • Willingness to assist in other areas as needed.
