Job Summary

The Medical Support Assistant role at VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION is a critical position that requires a unique blend of administrative and clinical skills. Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to clinical staff, including scheduling appointments, managing electronic records, and ensuring pre-visit requirements are met.
  • Patient Care: Assist with patient travel activities, handle secure messaging, and coordinate non-VA referrals.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Six months of clerical, office, customer service, or other administrative work experience.
  • Skills: Proficient in spoken and written English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
