As a Surgical Care Specialist at UT Health Science Center, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced surgical setting. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician Assistant to join our team.
About the JobThis position offers a unique opportunity to work with a world-renowned institution, providing advanced medical care to patients in a surgical setting. You will be working under the direction of a surgeon, conducting complex patient care procedures, and managing pre-operative and post-operative patients.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree as a Physician Assistant and have current Texas licensure and certification. Previous experience in a surgical specialty is preferred but not required. The selected candidate will be responsible for assessing patient complaints, performing minor surgical procedures, and utilizing advanced assessment skills to anticipate complex patient problems.
We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience. In addition to your base salary, you will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including 100% paid medical premiums, generous time off, and longevity pay.
Key Responsibilities- Conducts complex, standardized patient care procedures under the direction of a surgeon
- Assesses patient's medical complaints and provides appropriate treatment
- Performs minor surgical procedures as delegated by the supervising physician
- Manages pre-operative and post-operative patients in coordination with the faculty supervising physician
- Utilizes advanced assessment skills to anticipate complex patient problems specific to surgery while communicating information to supervising / attending physician

Current Texas Licensure as a Physician Assistant, Current Physician Assistant certification issued by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants, Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or specialty required by department, Proficient in the use of medical and surgical instruments and equipment required by work.
