Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Furniture Delivery Specialist to join our team at KARM Stores. This individual will be responsible for safely transporting furniture and other donated items from donor's homes to our stores while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Delivery Operations: Safely transport furniture and donated items from donor's homes to KARM Stores, adhering to traffic laws and ensuring the safe handling of merchandise.
  • Collaboration with Team Members: Work alongside fellow truck drivers and furniture movers to build a cohesive team environment, promoting a Christ-centered atmosphere.
  • Inventory Management: Evaluate the condition of donated items based on KARM Stores' guidelines and communicate directly with donors regarding acceptance or rejection of items.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate the truck lift gate, dollies, tie-down straps, and other equipment as needed during the workday.
Requirements
  1. Licenses and Certifications: Possess a valid TN driver's license (Class D with F endorsement or CDL) and provide proof of personal vehicle insurance.
  2. Compliance: Adhere to Hands Free Tennessee law.
  3. Physical Demands: Meet physical strength and bodily health requirements to move heavy furniture items and work in a warehouse setting.
  4. Cognitive Abilities: Utilize basic computer skills, including keyboard typing and navigation, to record hours worked daily.
  5. Communication Skills: Possess strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with donors, team members, and management.

Additional Requirements
  • Work Environment: Spend 60% of your time standing or walking while moving furniture, 25% sitting as a passenger in a truck cab, and 10% using hands to type on a tablet or computer.
  • Visual Acuity: Possess close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
