About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Performance Optimization to join our team. In this strategic leadership position, you will collaborate directly with senior executives and key clients to ensure SmithRx achieves its goal of providing the lowest possible pharmacy costs. Your responsibilities will include architecting and executing SmithRx's strategy for client reconciliations, also known as performance accountability.

This entails working closely with Sales, Proposals, Clinical Strategy, Data, Legal, and Account Management teams to synthesize commercial pharmacy data and contractual obligations. You will craft offers to clients and partners that accurately reflect SmithRx's value proposition. A strong background in PBM performance data and contracting is essential, along with analytical, conceptual, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate SmithRx's performance story.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with Sales and Proposals teams to develop client offers that accurately represent SmithRx's value.
  2. Create a 'reconciliation playbook' to ensure SmithRx stays ahead of contract performance accountability processes with clients and partners, ensuring client satisfaction.
  3. Work with the Data Analytics team to deeply understand SmithRx's performance for clients and build reports to automate the process of performance accountability.
  4. Collaborate with the Legal team to ensure client agreements align with SmithRx's performance accountability strategy.
  5. Partner with the Account Management team to communicate SmithRx's performance to clients regularly, ensuring they are aware of SmithRx's value.
  6. Work with senior leadership to innovate and evolve performance accountability models for SmithRx and the PBM industry as a whole.
  7. Educate pharmacy consultants and brokers about SmithRx's performance accountability strategy and its benefits for clients.

Your Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  1. 10+ years of experience in analytical, business development, or pharmacy strategy roles, including 5+ years of experience leading high-performing teams at a PBM.
  2. Startup experience, particularly in fast-paced environments, is highly valued.
  3. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; an advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills to present SmithRx's value proposition and philosophy on performance accountability to various audiences.
