About the Role:

This newly formed position will lead the expense reporting team for Hartford Funds, driving financial excellence and influencing strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team reviewing all expenses (actuals and forecast) for accuracy and transparency.
  2. Establish disciplined departmental processes ensuring consistency and reliability in financial data.
  3. Conduct ongoing reviews of departmental budgets, developing comprehensive understanding of variances and their implications.
  4. Create insightful reports and analyses informing strategic decision-making, focusing on expense allocations for various profitability views.
  5. Develop the firm's expense story, translating data into a clear narrative.
  6. Work to continuously improve contract management processes, collaborating with accounting and The Hartford's Procurement team to streamline operations.
  7. Pursue special projects and additional tasks as needed.
Requirements:
  1. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
  2. A minimum of 10 years of finance and accounting experience, with a proven track record of success.
  3. Superior Excel modeling skills; ability to create flexible financial models.
  4. A high level of comfort with in-person interactions across all levels of the organization.
  5. Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced department.
  6. No asset management industry experience necessary; this role is a great entry point for someone eager to learn.
Compensation:

The annualized base pay range is $125,000 - $165,000, reflecting market analysis. Additional rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and recognition programs.
