About the Role:This newly formed position will lead the expense reporting team for Hartford Funds, driving financial excellence and influencing strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:- Lead a team reviewing all expenses (actuals and forecast) for accuracy and transparency.
- Establish disciplined departmental processes ensuring consistency and reliability in financial data.
- Conduct ongoing reviews of departmental budgets, developing comprehensive understanding of variances and their implications.
- Create insightful reports and analyses informing strategic decision-making, focusing on expense allocations for various profitability views.
- Develop the firm's expense story, translating data into a clear narrative.
- Work to continuously improve contract management processes, collaborating with accounting and The Hartford's Procurement team to streamline operations.
- Pursue special projects and additional tasks as needed.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 10 years of finance and accounting experience, with a proven track record of success.
- Superior Excel modeling skills; ability to create flexible financial models.
- A high level of comfort with in-person interactions across all levels of the organization.
- Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced department.
- No asset management industry experience necessary; this role is a great entry point for someone eager to learn.
The annualized base pay range is $125,000 - $165,000, reflecting market analysis. Additional rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and recognition programs.
