Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of HR to join our leadership team. This is a strategic role responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR, including company culture, talent acquisition, employee engagement, IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access), compensation, performance management, learning and development, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for ballet, a deep understanding of organizational culture, and a proven ability to align HR strategies with the business goals in a creative and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement HR strategies that support the company's mission, vision, and long-range plan. Provide strategic HR advice to senior leadership and collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment.
Culture & Engagement:
Lead efforts to create a high-performing, engaged, and inclusive workforce. Develop programs that celebrate SF Ballet's unique culture and enhance team collaboration. Ensure all internal processes and initiatives include an IDEA lens with measurable goals and results.
Employee Relations:
Advises leadership on complex employee relations issues.
HR Operations & Compliance:
Oversee HR operations, including benefits and compliance with local labor laws and regulations. Ensure HR policies are clear, up-to-date, and in alignment with industry standards.
Qualifications:
At least 10 years of experience in an HR leadership role, preferably within a creative, performing arts, or nonprofit environment. Demonstrated expertise in building and fostering inclusive workplace cultures. Excellent communications, leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills. Expertise in making data-driven decisions. Ability to influence with respect and approachability. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to leadership. Proven ability to lead and develop an HR team, including an HR Manager and two HR Generalists.
