Job Title: VP of Engineering

About the Role:

LiquidPiston Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP of Engineering to lead its engineering team in the development of power-dense, fuel-efficient, low-vibration, and multi-fuel capable combustion engines. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in rotary engine development, heavy fuel engine calibration, and power generation and storage electronics.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and drive engine and generator development programs
* Provide technical direction, management, and leadership for designers, analysts, engineers, technicians, machinists, and contractors
* Co-author technical papers and proposals
* Prepare for and participate in meetings with existing and potential customers

Requirements:

* BS in Mechanical Engineering, with MSME and/or Ph.D. preferred
* Strong knowledge of rotary/diesel engine development, heavy fuel engine calibration, and power generation and storage electronics
* Previous experience working with government agencies (DOE, DARPA, etc.) is desirable
* Prior success leading startups or small companies with manufacturing environments
