Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Communication Disorder Specialist to join our team at Southside Independent School District. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, voice, or language disorders in students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement individualized therapy plans for students with communication disorders.
  • Evaluate student progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support student communication needs.
  • Assess students' communication skills and develop data-driven interventions to address deficits.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license/certificate and National Provider Identification Number.
  • Three years supervised clinical experience in speech-language pathology, preferably.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including students with autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, and English language learners.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in speech-language pathology, such as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and vocal tremor treatment.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to maintain emotional control under stress, moderate lifting and carrying, and regular district-wide travel to multiple work locations. The selected candidate must be willing to collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.

The estimated salary for this position is $63,000 - $83,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education.
