Administrative Support Specialist

Job Summary
The City of Mesquite, TX is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Graduate Intern to join our team. As an administrative support specialist, you will provide a variety of responsible administrative functions in the City Manager's Office, including coordination of special programs and projects, development and preparation of studies and reports, and administrative support to the City Manager and the City Council.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled administrative support to assist upper-level administrative staff in the completion of their professional duties and responsibilities.
- Compose, prepare, and review a variety of memoranda, correspondence, reports, statistical analyses, and documents as assigned.
- Answer questions and provide information to the public, receive citizen and City Council complaints and questions, and resolve or refer to appropriate City personnel.
- Communicate professionally, courteously, and effectively with other city employees, officials, and the public.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or other related field.
- Must be currently enrolled in a Master's degree program in public administration at an accredited university.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Work Schedule
The schedule is flexible, Monday through Friday, 16-20 hours/week on average, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Occasional evenings or weekends may be required.
