Key Linux Automation and Application Development Expert

As a Linux Automation and Application Engineer, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement software solutions and automation workflows for our IT infrastructure. Your passion for automation and infrastructure development will be essential in designing, developing, and implementing software solutions and automation workflows for our IT infrastructure and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement software solutions and automation workflows for IT infrastructure and operations
- Develop best-practice code that enables integration and administration of diverse applications with a focus on process automation
- Deploy production-ready code using industry-standard testing and deployment processes
- Leverage web frameworks to provide full-featured RESTful APIs that can be used by end-users and other applications
- Document and support automation services, making them responsive, self-healing, and incorporating AI, and data-driven
- Improve and refine server OS deployments and provisioning processes using automation
- Design, implement, and support IT applications, such as CMDB, ELK stack, GraphQL, and other tools
- Contribute to configuration management policy development to further automate and streamline operations
- Contribute to open-source tool builds used on Linux servers
- Hands-on application debugging, troubleshooting, and problem remediation with automation workflows
- Build tools and implement automated flows to integrate seamlessly into our job scheduling system
- Work with other cross-functional teams to automate workflows, implement dashboards, and monitoring systems
- Develop containerized applications using tools like OpenShift, Kubernetes, Podman, and Docker
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in IT automation engineering
- Strong proficiency in programming languages like Python, Ruby, or Java
- Experience with development best practices, testing, and deployment processes
- Experience working with APIs, CI/CD tools, and software testing frameworks
- Knowledge of building, configuring, monitoring, and supporting open-source tools and application stacks on Linux
- Experience with Linux operating system commands and utilities
- Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift
- Preferably Python and shell scripting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Significant experience designing and developing enterprise-scale software solutions
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or CFEngine
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with data analytics tools and databases
