Job Summary

To ensure the safety and reliability of Sysco's fleet, we are seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on our vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on our fleet vehicles and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Repair and Diagnosis: Diagnose and repair issues with our vehicles and equipment, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Documentation: Accurately document all work performed on our Work Order system using the Complaint, Cause, and Correction format.
  • Computer Skills: Develop efficiency in our maintenance-related computer programs.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with a medium/heavy duty truck technical training 2-year school.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience with a 2-year technical degree or 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
Certifications and Licenses
  • ASE Certification: Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty.
  • CDL-A: Current and valid driver's license, with CDL-A preferred.
  • Annual Inspector Certification: Knowledge and skills in brake inspection and certification.
Physical Demands
  • Physical Abilities: Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, and crawl.
  • Vision Abilities: Close and distance vision, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
