Mortgage Loan Professional

Job Summary:

Fifth Third Bank, N.A. is seeking a skilled Mortgage Loan Originator to join our team. As a Mortgage Loan Originator, you will be responsible for originating residential 1st mortgage loans for outside referrals, meeting sales and cross-selling objectives, and assuming overall responsibility for the loan from application to closing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop referral contacts and maintain knowledge of available loan products, processing procedures, and underwriting guidelines.
• Collect and deliver loan packages in a timely manner, manage pipelines for originated loans, and complete required management reports.
• Communicate with branches and applicants to provide timely updates and progress reports, and maintain high levels of customer service.
• Attend and participate in Consumer Lending meetings as required by management.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent, four-year college degree preferred.
• Two years of mortgage sales experience, established book of local referral sources, and existing mortgage sales of $1 million per month.
• Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines, residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures, and federal lending regulations governing real estate lending.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, strong written and verbal communications skills, teamwork and customer service skills, and proven computer skills.
