Job Title: Senior Litigation Paralegal
Location: Our office is located in the heart of our region, allowing for easy access to local courts and clients.
About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Litigation Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in personal injury law, with expertise in federal and state court litigation cases.
Responsibilities:
- Filing documents in court and organizing briefs for trial preparation
- Preparing exhibits, including depositions from reports compiled by reporting services or other stakeholders involved during the discovery period through post-trial proceedings, including appeals if necessary
- Conducting pre-claim investigations, legal research, and initial case assessments
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and filing them with the court
- Performing administrative duties, such as calendar hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, managing logistics, etc.
- Assisting with preparation of federal and state administrative filings
- Maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes
- Organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
- Trial and arbitration preparation; preparation and management of trial exhibits and other trial-related assistance
- Aiding attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
- Gathering relevant information from various sources, including Lexis and Westlaw research
- Liaising between trial teams and internal/external third parties
- Helping with voir-dire, jury selection, and witness preparation
- Assisting with case settlements
- Addressing client case status inquiries, including steps in process remaining, processing times, and appointment issues
- Ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and expectations
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in personal injury law as a Litigation Paralegal
- Experience working with federal/state court litigation cases from onset to trial phase
- Familiarity with the rules of federal and state procedures
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices, etc.
- Knowledge of MS Office and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, Dictaphone, etc.)
- Knowledge of federal filing systems
- Proficiency in English, bilingual a plus
- Working knowledge of case management software
- Strong sense of confidentiality and ability to exercise sound judgment
- Ability to work under pressure/deadlines and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; self-motivated
- Outstanding time-management and typing skills
- Ability to work autonomously while highly focused and detailed-oriented with exceptional analytical skills
- Professional presentation in attire, demeanor, appearance, and compliance to company dress code
- Paralegal associate degree or other relevant certification preferred
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
