Job Summary:

Capability Health and Human Services is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in helping clients develop or regain physical or mental functioning by implementing programs to improve speech delays, conditions, and feeding issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Therapy Programs: Develop ideas, plans, and procedures for initiation, expansion, improvement, and evaluation of therapy programs.
  • Evaluate and Assess Clients: Complete initial evaluations and re-evaluations for patients in the program; examine the condition of patients and analyze their needs; determine the need for a speech/language/feeding therapy evaluation and select and administer appropriate assessment tools to evaluate the patient.
  • Interpret Evaluation Data and Write Reports: Interpret evaluation data and write comprehensive reports that reflect strengths and barriers to client participation; direct program development; and guide evidence-based intervention.
  • Manage Clinical and Administrative Records: Maintain clinical and administrative records in accordance with professional standards, state guidelines, and agency system policy; adhere to federal and state regulations, and policies that affect speech/language pathology practice.
  • Manage Case Assignment: Manage case assignment dictated at the discretion of Capability Health's needs in the Early Intervention and outpatient clinic programs.
  • Exercise Professional Judgment: Use professional Code of Ethics and standards of practice to guide ethical decision making in practice.
  • Maintain Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion pertaining to the work environment.
  • Participate in Continuing Education: Participate in continuing education for professional development to ensure practice consistent with best practice and to meet Nevada Licensure requirements.
  • Participate in Staff Meetings: Participate in monthly staff meetings; attend staff trainings.
Requirements:
  • Initial Certification: Initial certification by National Board for Speech Language Pathology required.
  • Current License: Current Speech Therapy License from the State of Nevada required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children using knowledge of treatment practices per discipline required.
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certifications required.
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license required.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of the federal, state, local legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures that mandate and guide occupational therapy in practice required.
  • Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) required.
Working Conditions:

This position will require up to 80% travel within the service delivery area. This position will be out in Las Vegas area outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, wind, poor air quality, and wet or humid conditions, etc.
