Medical Specimen Collector

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at International Staff Consulting. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting and processing blood and other specimens for laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood and other specimens from patients using venipuncture and other methods
- Label and store specimens according to established procedures
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
- Centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order
- Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperature
- Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations
- Attend annual department trainings and answer telephone calls
Requirements:
- Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed
- Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- High School Diploma or GED
Summary:
The main function of a Phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making work flow recommendations. The Phlebotomist will collect and process blood and other specimens for laboratory testing, and will be responsible for understanding and complying with OSHA and DEP regulations.
