Warehouse Material Handler

Job Summary

As a Warehouse Material Handler at thyssenkrupp, you will be responsible for the movement of raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift truck. You may also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to meet job requirements. This role performs work under direct supervision and handles basic issues and problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately removes and stocks product, customer's product, and various supplies according to inventory plan.
  • Accurately selects product to fill customer orders and package them properly.
  • Loads and unloads trucks and verifies that correct items are loaded and unloaded.
  • Picking, processing, and packing orders, which may also require cutting orders on a Kaltenbach saw.
  • Completes cycle counts.
  • Identifies, holds, and segregates defective material.
  • Completes paperwork per work instructions when required.
  • Performs general clean-up.
  • Inspects the forklift at the beginning of every shift and reports issues to immediate supervisors or designated personnel.
  • Participates in, supports, and complies with all health, safety, ISO, and 6S initiatives and requirements.
  • Assists in any other duties to support the operation as requested by supervisors or team leads.
  • This role works directly on the warehouse floor and may be around heavy machinery.
  • Meets TKMNA Employee Attributes/Competencies.


This position has been identified as safety-sensitive by thyssenkrupp under applicable laws. Any application for this position considered for employment with thyssenkrupp requires successful completion of pre-employment drug testing, which may include testing for marijuana in accordance with any applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Ability to read and write English (in Quebec, must read and write French)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. for 100 feet
  • Ability to perform basic math skills
  • Previous forklift experience
  • Must be able to sit for long periods and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping motions
  • Safety Mindset
Preferred Requirements:
  • Use of handheld measuring tools
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge, such as with database programs and Microsoft Office programs
