Construction Laborer

Wanzek Construction is seeking a skilled Construction Laborer to join our team. As a Construction Laborer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful completion of our construction projects.

• Promote and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all Company and safety policies and procedures.
• Perform a variety of functions, including digging, spreading, and leveling dirt and gravel with a pick or shovel.
• Lift, carry, and hold building materials, tools, and supplies.
• Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
• Mix, pour, and place concrete, gravel, and other materials using hand tools.
• Join, wrap, and seal sections of pipe.
• Perform routine, non-machine tasks, such as removing forms from set concrete, filling expansion joints with caulking, and rebar placement.
• Participate in general cleanup, demolition, and use of cutting torch, jackhammers, and placing culvert or pipe sections in trench.
• May be required to travel to different job sites on limited notice.
• Maintain an appropriate appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Superintendent.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek Construction's Zero Injury principles.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's, and ability to perform these operations using units weight measurement and volume.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
• Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards.

Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, and extreme heat.

Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.

Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
