Nurse Leader for Patient Care Excellence

As a skilled Senior Professional Staff Nurse II at UPMC, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care through process improvement and setting standards for the level and quality of care.

In this leadership role, you will manage and provide patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration. Your exceptional leadership skills, partnership approach, and ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, other healthcare providers, patients, and their families will be crucial in achieving desired patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and mentor others through precepting students, graduate nurses, and new hires.
  • Analyze clinical and behavioral situations to improve patient care practices.
  • Regularly seek feedback on performance and apply continuous professional improvement.
  • Support continuous learning in the clinical area through sharing research and materials from professional organizations.

Requirements


  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • A BSN degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience in Radiology/Interventional Radiology is an asset.
  • Completion of annual contributions to UPMC's My Nursing Career Ladder is mandatory.
  • UPMC-approved nursing certification is required within 1 year of hire/promotion and must be maintained.
  • Certification is not required if a Master's in nursing or DNP is held.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances


  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located.
  • UPMC-approved nursing certification required within 1 year of hire/promotion and must be maintained.
  • Certification not required if Master's in nursing or DNP is held.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Act 33 with renewal.
  • Act 34 with renewal.
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
