Safety Manager

Titan America has a Senior Safety Position opening in our Northern & Central Florida operations. This exempt role will be based out of Orlando, Fl and will report directly to the Assistant Safety Director for Titan North America. The primary objective of this position is to ensure compliance with all safety regulations as mandated by OSHA and DOT, while driving safety performance at individual locations across central and northern Florida.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to OSHA/DOT standards including employee (task) training and monitoring occupational exposure
  • Monitor safety progress against set goals and implement proactive measures to improve safety performance
  • Collaborate with Regional management on day-to-day needs and strategic safety initiatives.
  • Direct or conduct prompt investigations of safety-related incidents including root-cause analysis. Serve as the point of contact between regulatory agencies and operations as required
  • Track and analyze incidents to determine corrective actions to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Develop and implement initiatives based on gathered information.
  • Manage pro-active Behavior Based Safety Program with direct line responsibility to the corporate safety program

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required, Master's degree preferred
  • Must have a solid understanding of laws and regulations related to safety compliance
  • Previous experience working with OSHA and DOT agencies
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within a manufacturing facility with exposure to plant equipment and operations. In addition, experience managing a behavior-based safety program is highly desired
  • Must have experience in establishing/nurturing a proactive safety culture
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite – Specifically Outlook, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Visio
  • Demonstrated ability to form meaningful partnerships with various business leaders
  • This role requires up to 50% travel throughout central and northern Florida.
