Fleet Equipment Maintenance Specialist

The Fleet Equipment Maintenance Specialist is a critical role within the maintenance team at US Foods, Inc. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in diesel mechanics and be skilled in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of fleet road equipment.
This position requires a high level of technical expertise, with a focus on ensuring compliance with state and federal trucking regulations. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a fast-paced team.
Key Responsibilities
* Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, and other heavy vehicles.
* Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal vehicle performance and extend equipment lifespan.
* Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability.
* Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
Requirements
* 3 years of commercial diesel mechanic experience or 2 years with TK or Refrigeration certification
* Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and drivers
* Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Benefits
We offer competitive compensation packages, including an estimated salary range of $42,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, life insurance, and flexible scheduling options. Eligible new hires receive a $5,000 retention bonus.
Physical Requirements
The Fleet Equipment Maintenance Specialist will be required to sit, stand, walk, drive, lift, carry, push/pull, climb/balance, stoop/squat, bend, reach above shoulder, grasp objects, manipulate objects, and twist frequently.
