Job Description

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Conduct thorough inspections of residential dwellings to identify energy savings opportunities and health and safety problems.
  • Utilize the Department of Energy's Standard Work Specifications to develop written work orders and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of sub-contractors and inspect their work to ensure high-quality results.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of events, prepare reports, and establish positive relationships with clients, coworkers, contractors, and program personnel.

**Requirements:**

  • High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills, with strong mathematics aptitude.
  • Ability to quickly develop a thorough understanding of basic Community Action concepts and regulations.
  • Ability to relate well with diverse personalities from various socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • High comfort level with public interaction.
  • Valid Indiana driver's license and minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 on auto insurance.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain required certifications within specified time limits.

**Working Conditions:**

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move 50 pounds in all directions.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for 45-minute intervals.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and mount and dismount roofs and attic access points from ladders.
  • Must be able to enter attics and crawl spaces.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.

**Certifications:**

  • OSHA 10-hour general construction card.
  • EPA Lead Renovator certification.
  • BPI Energy Auditor certification.
  • Indiana Department of Health Lead Risk Assessor license.
  • BPI Quality Control Inspector certification.
