Seeking Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Staff Pathologists to Join Our Team at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for highly motivated pathologists to join our dynamic team at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center. We are seeking individuals with a strong background and recent experience in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
Duties and Responsibilities- Gross, Microscopic, and Final Diagnosis Rendering: Perform surgical pathology gross, microscopic, and final diagnosis rendering along with coding of surgical reports with pathology in rotation with other pathologists.
- Intraoperative Consultation: Provide intraoperative consultation to surgical services.
- Rapid Onsite Evaluation: Perform fine needle aspiration biopsies, provide diagnoses in rapid onsite evaluation for CT guided and EBUS guided fine needle aspiration biopsies, and provide diagnoses on gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens.
- Autopsy and Training: Perform autopsies with pathology trainees and supervise pathology trainees in surgical pathology and clinical pathology.
- Peer Review and Quality Assurance: Participate in prospective peer review and retrospective review of 10% cases when needed, and perform review and interpretation of serum and urine protein electrophoresis.
We offer a competitive salary range of $300,000 - $450,000 per year, annual performance bonuses, regular salary increases, and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, retirement plans, and malpractice protection.
