Job Overview
The Facility Maintenance Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and operational efficiency of our locations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can maintain a safe and comfortable environment for our employees, clients, and visitors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the premises.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and window cleaning, as per established procedures.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste materials in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down meeting rooms, events, and company functions, ensuring seamless transitions.
- Monitor and restock supplies in various areas, including breakrooms and storage facilities, to prevent shortages.
- Report any maintenance or repair issues to the relevant department to ensure prompt resolution.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and minor repairs, to prevent equipment failure.
- Contribute to facility security by ensuring all doors and windows are properly secured at the end of each workday.
- Collaborate with colleagues and follow instructions from supervisors to complete tasks efficiently.
- Participate in special projects or tasks assigned by management to contribute to the overall success of the team.
Requirements
- Must have weekend availability to support the demands of our business.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; previous experience in janitorial or custodial roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning products, equipment, and techniques is essential for effective performance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized environment are crucial for this role.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and a cooperative attitude are necessary for collaboration with colleagues.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and bending, is required for this position.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and procedures is essential for preventing accidents and injuries.
- Reliability and punctuality are critical for meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of service quality.
Estimated Salary Range: $35,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
