Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Medical Care Specialist to join our team in providing respiratory care to patients in alternate sites. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing preventative, rehabilitative, and palliative care to patients, utilizing all available resources within the agency and community.

Responsibilities

  1. Complete all documentation and charting procedures accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with ACHC and company policies.
  2. Review and update Plan of Treatments and Care Plans to ensure they are accurate and up-to-date.
  3. Document patient procedures, including tolerance, side effects, and other relevant information.
  4. Assist with authorization for CPAP/BiPAP referrals for patients.
  5. Utilize knowledge of respiratory equipment effectively in the clinical setting.
  6. Troubleshoot equipment issues successfully in the field.
  7. Maintain inventory control of CPAP/BiPAP supplies for sleep centers.
  8. Apply assessment skills and demonstrate clinical expertise during set-ups, follow-ups, and in-services.
  9. Participate in discharge planning for highly technical cases.
  10. Perform clinical assessments as needed and report results and recommendations to physicians and referral sources.
  11. Prepare patients and caregivers for smooth transitions to home settings.
  12. Conduct in-services to hospital staff, referrals, and other professionals on equipment and clinical issues.
  13. Follow up with physicians and referrals regarding patient status and document accurately and timely.
  14. Comply with infection control and hazardous materials handling procedures.
  15. Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours, adhering to company policies.
  16. Maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements

  • Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
  • Valid and unrestricted RT clinical license in all states serviced by AdaptHealth LLC or Associate degree in Nursing with valid and unrestricted LPN or RN clinical license.
  • CPR certification required.
  • One (1) year of clinical experience as a Health Care RT, HME RT, or clinical nursing with Vent experience.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per annum
