Fitness Club Manager Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Taymax Group. This dynamic role will provide an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of club operations to ensure an exceptional "Judgement Free" member experience.

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Club Manager to build a positive and enthusiastic team atmosphere as well as a financially successful club. This role will involve assisting in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high-performing staff, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests, and ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in scheduling and supervising staff to ensure that all shifts are regularly covered.
  • Ensure staff is providing exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Assist in resolving or escalating employee issues or concerns.
  • Assist in administration and processing of all weekly employee payroll as needed.
  • Provide backup support as needed for any employee who is absent.

Additionally, the Assistant Manager will lead by example with involvement in all front desk related activities, including greeting members and guests, answering phones, checking members into the system, and facilitating all member requests.

Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • One year of customer service experience preferably in a similar gym or retail environment.
  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite) and the ability to learn systems quickly.
  • Solid supervisory, diplomacy, and listening skills.

Physical Demands

The Assistant Manager will be required to stand and walk during their shift, frequently talk in person or on the phone, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. The role may also involve exposure to toxic chemicals.
