As a leading chemistry company, Chemours is committed to creating a better world through the power of our chemistry. We're seeking a talented Technical Service and Application Development Scientist to join our Advanced Performance Materials team.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity will involve providing technical support to customers, collaborating with global teams, and working with vendors to procure necessary materials. You'll have the chance to develop and test new product prototypes, design and deliver training courses, and contribute to the growth of our melt-processable Fluoropolymers business.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise to customers, including travel to key sites to troubleshoot processes, address technical questions, and introduce new products.
  • Collaborate with global teams to exchange experiences, share results, and develop new product prototypes or processes.
  • Work with vendors to procure materials and develop laboratory equipment to support research activities.
  • Assist in product/customer complaint investigations to perform root cause failure analysis and define corrective actions.
  • Document and communicate results in various electronic formats, including electronic laboratory notebooks and Microsoft Teams sites.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in polymer, chemical, mechanical, or materials engineering/science.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.
  • Fluency in English (professional writing and speaking).
  • Ability to travel to customer sites (up to 30%).
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple, complex projects in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a high degree of initiative and self-motivation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience of extrusion processes utilizing fluoropolymers.
  • Working knowledge of fluoropolymer fundamentals.
