Skilled Motor Equipment Technician Wanted in Somerville

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Motor Equipment Technician to join our team at the City of Somerville. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing complex repairs and maintenance on a variety of motor equipment.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will have a strong background in auto/truck repair, with a minimum of two years of experience working with diesel and gasoline engines. They will be proficient in using a range of diagnostic tools and equipment, and will have excellent problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication and oil changes
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with motor equipment
- Use hand and power tools to complete repairs and maintenance tasks
- Work from oral and written instructions to complete tasks
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- At least two years of experience in auto/truck repair
- Working knowledge of welding/brazing techniques
- Ability to use safety equipment and follow safety procedures
- Valid Class B Massachusetts Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
