Job Summary:

A Medical Assistant plays a vital role in the healthcare team, providing administrative and clinical support to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. This position requires strong organizational and multitasking skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a good understanding of medical terminology and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Manage patient records and schedules appointments
Greet patients, answer phone calls, and coordinate laboratory and diagnostic tests
Assist with patient examinations by measuring vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
Provide patients with relevant educational materials, explain treatment procedures, and offer basic health information
Set up and maintain medical instruments and equipment, sterilize instruments, and keep medical rooms clean and organized

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3-5 relevant experience
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred, but not required
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
CPR certification may be required
