Job Summary

The Regional Manager for the Facilities/Building Envelope Services is a key role at Universal Engineering Sciences, responsible for driving business development and technical expertise in the Building Envelope and Facilities Service Line. This individual will serve as a technical support and liaison for branch offices, performing field work, writing reports, and providing consultancy services throughout the state of Florida.

Key Responsibilities

• Pursue business development opportunities within the Building Envelope and Facilities Service Line, including attending industry events, setting up meetings with prospective clients, and researching opportunities
• Attend project meetings and provide technical support and guidance to team members
• Perform field-related work, including inspections and investigations/evaluations of existing building enclosure systems
• Organize data from the field to write reports, perform analysis, and troubleshoot issues
• Communicate effectively with clients about the current state of the project, issues, feedback, and recommendations
• Prepare proposals for Building Envelope opportunities and train and mentor other teammates within the Building Envelope and Facilities Service Line
• Function as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Building Envelope and Facilities-related questions or inquiries
• Develop relationships and communicate effectively with branch managers and other service line leaders across the state of Florida
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time around the state of Florida

Requirements

• Four (4) year degree from a US-accredited college or university in civil engineering, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture, or a related field
• At least five (5) years' experience as a proven leader and producer in the Building Envelope and Facilities Service Line
• Ability to read and write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Knowledge of written communication formats and composition, including grammar and vocabulary
• Ability to present to one or more people, including customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
• Ability to speak effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clients
• Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop and cell phone, including sending and receiving emails, prepare and present PowerPoint presentations, and learn Deltek Vision, SAP Concur, and various building department software(s)
• Mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Reasoning ability to handle multiple and changing priorities concurrently
• Ability to work with problems and deal with a variety of variables
• Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida's Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification)
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Preferred Qualifications

• State of Florida licensed Architect (AIA)
• State of Florida licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• Certifications such as Registered Roof Observer (RRO), Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), Registered Exterior Wall Observer (REWO), and/or Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC)
• State of Florida Building Inspector License (BN) - Building, Residential, Mechanical, Plumbing, and/or Electrical

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The Regional Manager for the Facilities/Building Envelope Services will be required to drive, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, talk, and hear. Body motions and movements include: bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, pulling, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and pushing. Standing or sitting for extended periods of time may be required. Lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds is expected regularly. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds is expected occasionally. Climbing a ladder may be required. Job site conditions may or may not be accessible by vehicle and can include uneven surfaces, sand, and other natural and man-made obstacles. This job may be exposed to outside weather conditions and construction sites where the noise level may be more than moderate for extended periods of time. The typical noise level of this job is moderate.
