Job Summary:

Custom Microwave, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter II to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating 2D and 3D drawings and models using SolidWorks. Your attention to detail and ability to work within strict deadlines will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and models using SolidWorks
  • Create and review manufacturing routers
  • Administer Manufacturing Change Notice (MCNs) per internal guidelines
  • Provide support and troubleshooting to Manufacturing Team during product lifecycle
  • Document all work product using paper records, EPDM and GSS
  • Provide general guidance and occasional training and oversight to peers and internal stakeholders
  • Process general awareness of internal, industry and customer requirements
  • Create and review drawings using GD&T
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in related discipline; may be substituted by commensurate experience
  • 3-7 years of related drafting experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with an MRP system
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with GD&T
  • Must provide proof of US Citizenship or Permanent Residency to comply with ITAR requirements
  • Ability to pass a drug screen per Custom Microwave, Inc.'s drug testing policy
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check per Custom Microwave, Inc.'s policy

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Custom Microwave, Inc.'s manufacturing facility is more than 56,000 square feet. Workers may be exposed to loud noises, chemicals, and other occupational hazards; personal protective equipment may be provided by The Company and at request.
  • Must be able to sit in a stationary position for more than 50% of day
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery; repetitive motions include, but are not limited to, keyboarding and data entry operations
  • Must be able to intermittently ambulate for less than 30 minutes throughout the work shift
  • May require occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and crouching to access work supplies
  • This position involves extensive internal and external communication; ability to utilize a phone and convey accurate information in person, over the phone, and through email
  • Must be able to see in artificial/fluorescent lighting
