Quality Assurance Specialist

The Quality Technician role at CIRCOR involves testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process. This position requires the ability to interpret manufacturing drawings, select products for testing, and record test data. The Quality Technician will also evaluate data, write reports, and recommend modifications to quality or production standards as needed.
Key Responsibilities
• Interprets manufacturing drawings and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
• Selects products for tests at specified stages in the production process and tests products for various qualities such as dimensions, tolerances, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
• Records test data and applies statistical quality control procedures when necessary.
• Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
• Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to drawing and specification requirements.
• Analyzes results to applicable acceptance criteria.
• Enters data into a computer for graph and chart analysis.
• Reviews and maintains incoming documents and data such as inspection reports to ensure they are obtained and stored in the proper manner.
• Participates in the implementation and utilization of the CIRCOR Operating System.
• Oversees the inspection process and handles all hardware-related actions for the Manager.
• Trains other inspection and manufacturing personnel in the use of automated inspection tools.
Requirements
• Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school with one to three years of related experience.
• Proficient in using stationary and portable CMM equipment, including writing inspection routines and programs for the equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before employees and leadership of the organization.
• Assist Quality Coordinator in preparation for the inspection process.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
