About the Role

UCI Health is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team in Irvine. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heating and air conditioning systems, electric motor driven absorber type chillers, and other related equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and policies.
  • Install, maintain, repair, and make alterations to various trade-specific equipment, including interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Identify problems and recommend repairs and/or improvements, troubleshooting issues to identify cause and repair status.
  • Accurately maintain all required records and documentation.
Requirements
  • Understanding of regulatory controls and requirements of NEC, NFPA, AQMD, OSHA, and JCAHO standards.
  • Ability to work overtime or alternate shifts as required to meet hospital needs.
  • Must possess EPA Certification or have the ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Current State of California Driver's License.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, shop drawings, and manufacturers' technical manuals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
