Metro Aviation, Inc. is a leading provider of helicopter air ambulance services in the United States. We are currently seeking an experienced Helicopter Air Ambulance Pilot to join our team in New Castle, Indiana for the Indiana University Health LifeLine program. Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work as a Pilot-in-Command (PIC) responsible for all phases and aspects of helicopter air ambulance operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients and crew members while adhering to strict safety protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to include interaction with customers, co-workers, and the general public
  • Maintain a work and training schedule as set forth by Metro Aviation, Inc. and be prepared to occasionally serve extra duty shifts
  • Attend meetings and conferences as required to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to possess:

  • A valid FAA Commercial Pilot Rotorcraft Certificate and Instrument Helicopter Rating (Airline Transport Pilot Rotorcraft Preferred)
  • A minimum of 2,000 hours total flight time, including 1,200 hours of helicopter flight time and 1,000 hours of PIC helicopter time
  • Experience in air medical operations, single-pilot IFR operations, and night vision goggle operations
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under pressure
