Job Summary:
The Arizona Department of Agriculture is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Administrative Assistant II to provide administrative support to our Animal Services Division. The position is located in downtown Phoenix and requires the employee to work in the office.
The Administrative Assistant II will provide administrative support to our Animal Services Division, which protects and improves the health, quality, and marketability of Arizona animals and animal products. The position will involve collecting, balancing, and recording revenue, issuing entry permits, and maintaining databases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, balance, and record all revenue associated with the Animal Services Division
- Issue entry permits for incoming or moving livestock
- Maintain databases pertaining to the State Veterinarians Office and record management for licensed feedlots and aquaculture establishments
- Issue and track Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) books to accredited and licensed veterinarians
- Perform tasks related to the livestock self-inspection program, including answering customer inquiries and collecting and maintaining self-inspection applications
Requirements:
- General knowledge of federal and state laws, rules, and import requirements of livestock
- Computers and computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, Google and Google Suite)
- Customer service techniques
- Basic financial procedures and practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Livestock experience
- Two (2) plus years as an Administrative Assistant
