Executive Chef Assistant

Sparrow + Wolf is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Jr. Sous Chef to join our culinary team. In this role, you will assist in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality in food preparation, and helping lead the kitchen team. You'll work closely with our Executive Chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences that reflect the innovative spirit of Sparrow + Wolf.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in day-to-day kitchen operations and ensure the efficient functioning of all food preparation areas
- Maintain quality control over food preparation, presentation, and consistency
- Support the Executive and Sous Chef in menu planning, development, and execution
- Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance in cooking techniques and kitchen safety
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
- Monitor food inventory levels and assist in placing orders when necessary
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction
- Assist in managing kitchen scheduling and labor costs to meet business needs
- Participate in the continued education program to further develop your culinary skills and knowledge
- Be an ambassador for the values and vision of Sparrow + Wolf, promoting a positive and collaborative work culture
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Line Cook or Jr. Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on creativity, technique, and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Passion for the culinary arts and commitment to professional growth
