Service Advisor Job Description

Interstate Companies is seeking a skilled Service Advisor to join our team. As a Service Advisor, you will play a critical role in building strong customer relationships by consulting with customers regarding their service needs. You will work closely with technicians to ascertain the cause of issues and work to address and resolve them. If you have a strong understanding of the truck service industry and a commitment to quality and excellence, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers at the service counter and by phone, taking care of their needs using our Elite Support processes and standards.
  • Assist fellow service office employees with managing schedule and workload.
  • Manage technician time and monitor repair progress for maximum efficiency.
  • Work with parts department to gather information for repair estimates and update customers for approval.
  • Work with outside vendors for sublet work needed on customer units.
  • Assist with warranty claims at branch level and work with warranty department to ensure maximum warranty recovery with vendors.

Requirements:

  • Basic computer skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the box.
  • 3 years of truck or automotive service writing experience required.
