Upholsterer

At Jackson Furniture Ind., we're seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join our team. As an Upholsterer, you'll play a crucial role in manufacturing high-quality sofas, loveseats, and chairs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble and disassemble furniture frames with precision and attention to detail.
• Attach spring assemblies to seats and backs, ensuring a smooth and comfortable finish.
• Place padding and covering over seat springs, using tack hammers or powered staple guns.
• Shape and attach padding to inside backs, ensuring a precise fit.
• Attach upholstery material to top, side, and bottom rails of outside arms, fitting and shaping materials to achieve a smooth contour.
• Seam upholstery covering edges to adjoining inside backs and outside arm coverings.
• May be required to attach trimming materials, such as gimp, braid, binding, skirts, and panels, using glue, staples, nails, or tacks.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with previous upholstery or framing experience highly desirable.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Attention to detail and high-quality expectations.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently, with a focus on quality and productivity.
• Flexibility to move to different jobs, lines, or departments as needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
