Job Description

This position is primarily responsible for driving and participating in the day-to-day activities of production, inventory, and logistics processes for customer orders. This position will manage all inventory and allocations of equipment. The manager is expected to guide and advise their staff to ensure all activities are performed correctly and efficiently; monitoring the day-to-day activities of the logistics and production personnel, communicating any needs to the operations manager; reviewing and resolving all escalations ensuring all questions and requests are handled immediately.

The manager will be the primary point related to time keeping for the production and logistics personal time off requests, disciplinary actions, annual reviews, compensation reviews, training, and mentorship, as well as ensuring the development of your successor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage inventory, receiving, and allocations of equipment with project management team.
  • Production and process work orders to configure equipment needed for customer orders.
  • Monitor workflow and productivity, adjusting shifts and staffing as necessary.
  • Supervise logistics and production staff to meet business goals.
  • Respond to and act on all incoming customer feedback regarding Distribution Center.
  • Assist in training new hires and 'trickle-down' training of any new material to all technical teams as required.
  • Oversee the analysis, improvement, and implementation of all freight models to ensure lowest cost, maximum efficiency, and optimal customer service.
  • Manage logistics budgeting process, internal distribution center resources.
  • Lead the development of and implements standard operating procedures (SOP) to be set/utilized by all Telkonet logistics and production personnel.
  • Recruit, screen, interview, hire, and oversee all aspects of the application, hiring, and training process for new employees for the support team and distribution center.
  • Oversee, review, and approve department timecards and payroll.
  • Lead the daily standup staff meeting. Provides appropriate direction to ensure daily objectives are defined and goals are met.
  • Create and maintain Distribution Center quality metrics.
  • Assign and monitor the daily activity of a Quality Assurance representative as part of the distribution center's core organizational format.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; 3-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience supervising or managing specific to any or all listed:
  • Distribution Center management
  • Logistics and quality management
  • Customer service management
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Strong knowledge in Controls/HVAC systems, network technologies, LAN/WAN environments, routing, TCP/IP, and wireless components.
  • Written skills are necessary, as documenting customer issues and troubleshooting steps effectively and completely is vital to expedited issue resolution.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and the ability to monitor and react to multiple customer alerts and requests. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team toward a collective goal is also required.
