Compensation Consultant Job Description

MRA, The Management Association, is seeking a highly consultative Compensation Consultant to support various organizations in annual compensation planning services. This role involves providing direction in market pricing, salary structure, pay equity analysis, sales and incentive plan design, and benefits benchmarking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate member relationships and demonstrate exceptional customer service.
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of member-facing deliverables, including analyses, reports, presentations, and training.
  • Manage compensation projects by facilitating member meetings and presentations, responding to member questions, managing workflow, and completing projects within budget and member expectations.
  • Evaluate positions for market competitive salary based on job content and various salary survey sources.
  • Conduct job evaluation processes, analysis, and audits of new and revised positions to determine appropriate exemption status and grade level.
  • Review salary grade assignments to ensure equity across the compensation plan design.
  • Facilitate discussions on compensation philosophy with management and prepare plan proposal and design alternatives.
  • Design, develop, and deliver compensation communication, presentations, and training materials.
  • Research, review, and educate members on compensation practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate current departmental processes and provide solutions/recommendations for the Compensation team.
  • Partner with MRA's Survey department to design and implement scheduled and custom surveys.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of progressive compensation experience.
  • Understanding of market pricing, benchmarking, surveys, and salary structures.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Employment Law as well as current employment-related legislation.
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Suite and HRIS applications.
