Job Overview

Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) is seeking a skilled Benefits Administrator to provide expert support in the administration of employee benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile and audit health and supplemental benefit insurance vendor invoices to ensure accurate payments, credits, and adjustments.
  • Provide exceptional customer service support to internal and external customers on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries.
  • Process benefits accurately and efficiently, including enrollments, COBRA, terminations, status changes, beneficiary designations, and audits.
  • Utilize COTA's HRIS system to create plans, enter and maintain employee benefit selection information, and track and report employee arrearages.
  • Develop and lead benefit and wellness educational opportunities, such as new hire orientation and open enrollment.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field.
  • At least five years of benefit and/or related business experience, with an equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist certification preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
