Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. As a LPN, you will provide medical care and prescribed treatments to our students, while also serving as an integral member of their treatment team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care, prescribed treatments, and assist in evaluations, in accordance with Nursing Practice standards, Devereux policy, and Glenholme procedures.
  • Serve as an integral member of the students' treatment team responsible for communicating changes in treatment, medication, and behavioral observations to authorized personnel.
  • Maintain students' hard-copy, electronic medical/treatment records, and Devereux approved reporting systems in accordance with established procedures.
  • Participate in the initial and on-going training of Glenholme employees, in areas to include, but not limited to, emergency procedures, and the use of prescribed medical equipment.
  • Coordinate external medical and dental appointments; and, provide or arrange for students' transportation to same.
  • Maintain cleanliness and security of the treatment and medical department environment in accordance with established infection control procedures.
Requirements
  • Current Connecticut Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
  • Valid CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Minimum of (1) year experience working with adolescents in a behavioral health, Human Services, Residential Treatment, or Community Mental Health environment
  • Valid Connecticut Drivers' License and satisfactory three-year driving history record
