Compensation Specialist for Staten Island Construction Firm

We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation Specialist to join our team at Grassi in Staten Island. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of timekeeping and payroll processing.
Company Overview:Grassi is a construction company based in Staten Island, and we are committed to providing exceptional services to our clients. As a Compensation Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our employees receive accurate and timely compensation.
Salary:The salary for this position is commensurate with experience, with an estimated range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location.
Job Description:- Assist in Timekeeping and Payroll Processing: Ensure that all new hires follow the required protocol for vetting identification and other necessary licenses and OSHA cards.
- Manage Employee Onboarding: Set up new employees in the Exaktime system for timekeeping and ensure that foremen maintain accurate daily sign-in sheets and post them online in the WhatsApp group chat daily.
- Process Weekly Time Accruals: Collect and organize weekly time accrued by employees and send it in the correct format to the third-party PR company for processing.
- Prepare Payroll Reports: Prepare all paper certified payroll reports as well as online entries for agency payroll reporting (LCMS System for NYC SCA and Ecomply for NYCHA).
- Submit Monthly Paperwork: Submit all monthly paperwork required with requisition packages.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks for Construction: Data entry of AP and AR, bank reconciliations, general journal entries.
- BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF CONSTRUCTION AS RELATES TO UNION WAGES, BENEFITS & REPORTING A PLUS.
- BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF CONSTRUCTION BILLING ON A % COMPLETED BASIS ON AS STANDARD AIA MONTHLY FORM.
As a Compensation Specialist at Grassi, you can expect:
- 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Mon-Fri in-office initially.
- Personal/Sick/Vacation Time: (2) personal days, (3) sick days, and (5) paid vacation days available after a 3-month probation period.
- Two weeks paid vacation available after 2 full years of employment.
- Medical Insurance: We offer standard medical insurance, with half of the employee's single premium picked up by the employer up to $500/month.
