Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Middle School Professional Communications and Speech Teacher to join our team at Sheldon Independent School District. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communication, public speaking, and instructional strategies to help students develop their speaking, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for middle school students in professional communications and speech.
  • Teach students effective communication skills, including public speaking, debate, persuasive writing, and interpersonal communication.
  • Create lesson plans that engage students in active learning and address different learning styles.
  • Evaluate student performance through assessments, presentations, and projects.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their communication skills.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the subject and level assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in teaching communication and speech skills to middle school students.
  • Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques for engaging students in active learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed.
