Staff Engineer, Exhaust Nozzle Mechanical Design Specialist

About this PositionThe Lynn advanced programs (AP) section is a brand-new organization with a mission to invent the future of flight and advance propulsion capability for the next generation of military applications. As a Staff Engineer, you will lead mechanical design and development of exhaust nozzle components as part of the exhaust nozzle team. This role requires a strong desire to solve technical problems, balance project requirements, and collaborate with teammates and technical experts.
Key Responsibilities- Execute design and analysis of exhaust nozzle components using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
- Develop specialized knowledge of exhaust nozzle mechanical design and integration with the exhaust nozzle module, engine, or airframe.
- Provide technical guidance that influences outcomes in the design process, leveraging experience, expertise, and data to support recommendations.
- Mentor others in the organization.
- Stay current with the latest technical developments and internal processes.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience in relevant mechanical design engineering position.
- Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- 8-10 years of experience in relevant mechanical design engineering position.
- Active US Government Security Clearance at the Secret level.
- Experience in design, analysis, and manufacturing of high-precision or turbomachinery components.
- Proficiency with finite element analysis software such as ANSYS.
