About The Position:

As a Kitchen Aide at The Salvation Army USA Central Territory, you will play a vital role in assisting with food preparation, meal service, and cleaning up after meals in various settings such as shelters, childcare centers, and mass feeding programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and serving meals, ensuring food safety and sanitation policies are adhered to.
  • Coordinate food service activities with the Food Services Coordinator.
  • Oversee kitchen activities, meal preparation, and clean up.
  • Manage food donations from the community and incorporate them into daily meal planning.
  • Assume meal service responsibilities in the absence of the Food Services and Warehouse Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience in meal preparation for large quantities preferred.
  • Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Working Conditions:

This position involves moderate to strenuous physical work, requiring the ability to lift 25+ pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
