Job Summary

The Animal Care Professional provides daily care, feeding, and exercise of boarding and hospitalized animals. This role requires attention to detail, understanding of proper feeding and sanitation procedures, and monitoring of boarding and hospitalized pets.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and uphold core values and mission statement of MVP
  • Provide compassionate care to boarding pets and hospitalized patients
  • Check-in animals for boarding, interact with clients, record information on boarding forms, and administer medications as needed
  • Monitor animal health, report abnormalities to doctors and technicians, and recognize emergency situations
  • Clean and disinfect cages, runs, and yard as needed, using personal protective equipment required for the area
  • Supervise animals in the yard, perform TLC play times or walks for clients, and move pets to yard or other areas for cleaning
  • Review boarding reports with clients and give baths to animals as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Confidence around animals and pets
  • Knowledge of proper animal restraint techniques
  • Understanding of infectious diseases and how to control and prevent their spread
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English language
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
