Pediatric Registered Nurse

Job Summary:
Nemours Foundation is seeking a full-time BSN Registered Nurse for our Pediatric Observation Unit. The schedule consists of full-time, 60 hours every two weeks with the option of picking up to 72 hours, night shifts, every third weekend, and every other holiday.
About the Role:
The Pediatric Observation Unit is a 24-bed limited-stay unit that typically cares for general medical surgical patients whose care is driven by protocols. The unit consists of single patient care rooms, which can also be isolation rooms. The goal of the unit is to provide high-quality, high-value patient care within a 72-hour time frame. Each patient room is equipped with oxygen, compressed air, and suction, along with state-of-the-art cardiorespiratory bedside monitors and computers that enable the healthcare team to access a patient's electronic medical record. These computers are also used in the barcoding administration of medications, which ensures patient safety by verifying that the correct medication is given to the appropriate child.
Responsibilities:
- Implement the patient care delivery model for the patient and their family.
- Assess, plan, provide, and evaluate the care provided to assigned patients.
- Participate in family-centered care rounds to assure an interprofessional approach and partnership with the patient and family.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- BSN preferred, must complete BSN within three years of hire.
- Inpatient experience preferred.
- Must be eligible for Delaware State license (or compact license).
- BLS certification with the American Heart Association required.
